FAQs
Questions we hear a lot.
How much does a mini digger cost in the UK?+
Our in-stock micro and mini diggers start from £5,450 + VAT. Larger 1.5 to 2.5 tonne machines cost more because of the bigger engine, longer reach and heavier undercarriage. Every listed price shows the ex-VAT figure with the inc-VAT figure alongside, and machines without a listed price are quoted on request.
What size mini digger do I need?+
Choose by access first, then by dig depth. Under 1 tonne (a micro digger) passes through most side gates for back gardens and drain repairs. Around 1 to 1.5 tonnes suits most domestic groundworks, footings and landscaping. From 1.8 tonnes upwards you gain the reach and stability for driveways, larger trenches and full working days on site.
Do I need a licence to operate a mini digger?+
There is no legal licence required to operate a mini digger on private land in the UK, but you must be competent to use it safely. Most commercial sites ask for a CPCS or NPORS card, so contractors usually take one of those courses. Towing the digger on a public road is a separate question governed by your driving licence and the trailer's plated weights.
How quickly can a mini digger be delivered?+
In-stock machines are prepared at our UK depot and typically delivered to mainland UK addresses within 3 to 5 working days from cleared payment, and we confirm the delivery day with you in advance. Collection from the depot is also available.
